WIFT-AT was formed in 2009 by people volunteering their time to increase gender equity in the screen industry in Atlantic Canada. Since then, WIFT-AT has grown and flourished, thanks to many more people volunteering time to help expand representation and gender equity in the industry. We recognize that both paid labour and volunteerism are part of how our organization creates experiences and realities our members wish for. However, we are aware of the increasing cost of living and precarity of employment, and want to acknowledge this with a small measure of compensatory value for our volunteers. Volunteer activity will be credited, and available to offset WIFT-AT fees (membership, registrations).
